Since the NHL just unveiled the killer new logo for the upcoming All-Star game in Nashville, I thought I would have some fun and take a stab at a potential logo for the ASG should it ever be hosted here in New Jersey. Currently, Newark is one of only a handful of hockey cities that has yet to host an ASG, so I'd imagine that we'll be doing so soon and I'm definitely excited to see the branding if and when it's unveiled.

In the meantime, here's my take on it. The overall look and feel is a nod to Newark's nickname, "The Brick City" and it's legacy as both a transit and industrial hub (the latter of which has sadly seen considerable decline in the past 70 years or so).

Typography was inspired by signage seen at both Penn Station Newark as well as the giant lettering on the facade of Newark's Paramount Theatre on Market Street.
